Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins in the morning with a warm welcome from a professional driver guide in Arusha. After a short briefing, you will depart for Tarangire National Park. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival at Tarangire, you will enter the park and begin your first game drive. Almost immediately, the landscape changes to golden grasslands dotted with towering baobab trees and acacia woodlands. Tarangire is well known for its elephants, and it is common to see families moving together, feeding, playing and much more.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site inside the park while watching animals roaming in the park. The afternoon game drive will continue as you explore different areas of the park, searching for lions, giraffes, and herds of zebra and wildebeest. In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and drive to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, you will go for a full day of game drives. Morning hours are rewarding since animals are active and the light is perfect for photography. You will follow wildlife trails and the Tarangire River, where elephants, buffaloes and antelopes gather to drink. You may spot lions, leopards, warthogs trotting and many more. Bird lovers will enjoy sightings of colourful species such as hornbills, kingfishers, and ostriches, among others.

A picnic lunch will be served inside the park at a designated place. In the afternoon, you will continue exploring Tarangire National Park. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer back to Arusha

Breakfast will be served at the lodge. The guide will pick you up from the lodge after having breakfast. At the park headquarters, where you will be taken by the guide, is where you will be briefed before setting off for a morning game drive. You will have the last views of wildlife in this park during the game drive. The guide will take you back to the lodge, and you check out.

The guide will transfer you back to Arusha. You will arrive in the afternoon, and you will be taken to a hotel where you will part ways with the guide, marking the end of the 3 days Tarangire Elephants and Baobabs Safari.
