Detailed Itinerary

On the 1 day Mikumi National Park safari, you will meet with a guide at a hotel in Dar es Salaam or at a location that will be agreed upon as early as 4 am. You will exchange greetings with the guide and get the information about this Tanzania safari from him. The guide will then drive you to Mikumi National Park. The drive to this national park will take approximately 4 hours to get there. You will get a short break and have breakfast along the way. You will then proceed to the park, arriving at the park headquarters.

You will be welcomed, and you will start the briefing about the game drive that you will conduct in the morning. You will be told about how you are supposed to behave while on the game drive, and then you will be given a guide who is well conversant with the routes in the park to escort you on the game drive. You will start the game drive that will take about 3 hours, and it will be carried out in the Mkata flood plains.

While on this game drive, you will have several views of wildlife, and some of the animals that will be seen include lions, leopards, hippos, buffaloes, antelopes, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes and many more. For the case of the hippos, you will be able to spot them at the hippo pools. After carrying out this morning’s game drive, you will then have a break where you will have your lunch.
