Tanzania Safari: 5 Days in Manyara and Tarangire.
The 5 days Lake Manyara and Tarangire safari is a wonderful Tanzania safari that takes you to the Northern Tanzania safari circuit for a unique safari experience, which includes Lake Manyara National Park to watch the tree-climbing lions, as well as Tarangire National Park, which is known for the large herds of elephants and then wonderful landscapes in Tanzania with the incredible baobab trees. During the safari, you will participate in game drives on which you will see a variety of wildlife like leopards, lions, antelopes, giraffes, large herds of elephants, and, among others, without forgetting the bird species.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park.
On the first day of the safari, your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or from the airport and welcome you, then brief you about the safari. After you transfer to Lake Manyara National Park, the home of the unique tree-climbing lions and many other wildlife.
Upon arrival, you will check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch. After lunch, you will proceed to a game drive on which you will search for incredible wildlife species like tree-climbing lions, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, bushbucks, impalas, hippos, waterbucks and others. After the sunset, you will drive to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Canopy walk and game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.
After breakfast, you will go for a canopy walk along the treetop walk, a suspended bridge in the forests of the park; this is about 400 metres long and 18 metres above the ground. The walk takes you through the forest and offers an opportunity to spot various colourful species as well as many animal species like elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, monkeys and many more. After the experience, return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will drive to the park for a game drive experience in the open savannah plains while looking for much wildlife that you missed during the game viewing experience, like giraffes, buffaloes, elephants and others. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Tarangire National Park.
Have breakfast, then transfer to Tarangire National Park, which is a popular wildlife safari destination for its large numbers of elephants that are seen during the game drives. Tarangire National Park has massive landscapes in Tanzania with the iconic baobab trees.
Upon arrival in the park, you will check into your lodge for lunch, and after lunch, you will transfer to the park for a game drive to spot many animal species like elephants, zebras, cheetahs, wildebeests, spotted hyenas, and many more.
Day 4: Transfer to Arusha.
Get up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then head to Arusha with an en-route game drive. Upon arrival in Arusha, you will go for lunch. After lunch, you will head to Lake Duluti for a canoe ride.
Lake Duluti is an old crater that became a lake, and it is located between the green, lush forests. During the canoe ride to where you will have perfect views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro on one day, you will spot many water birds and many other animal species along the shores of the lake. Later return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Departure.
Depending on your flight schedule, you will enjoy your early morning breakfast with your safari guide and then be transferred to the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination, which will bring your 5 days Lake Manyara and Tarangire safari to an end.
