Day 1: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
Your Tanzania safari begins with an early pickup from your Arusha. After meeting your professional guide, you will start your journey to Tarangire National Park, a scenic 2-hour drive approximately 120 km south of Arusha. As you approach the park, you will spot the iconic baobab trees. Tarangire is best known for its large elephant herds. Upon arrival, you will stop at the Tarangire entrance gate to register before heading into the park for a brief lunch at a lodge that you will check into, depending on.
After lunch, your game drive begins. Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant herds. Apart from elephants, you will also have a chance to see giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, kudu and many more. The park is particularly excellent for birdwatching as well, with over 500 bird species recorded. If you are lucky, you may spot the Tawny Eagle, Bateleur, and Lilac-breasted Roller, among others. The guide will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Game Drive in Tarangire and Transfer to Lake Manyara
After an early morning breakfast, you will go out for a morning game drive. While on the morning game drive, expect to see lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, wildebeest, buffalo and many more. During the game drive, you may also visit the Tarangire River, where wildlife tends to congregate in the dry season. The sight of elephants, antelopes, and wildebeest drinking from the river is a photographer’s dream.
Before leaving the park, your guide will take you to a baobab grove. These ancient trees, with their distinctive upside-down appearance, are not just remarkable for their size and age, but they also serve as important landmarks and resting places for many species. You may spot monkeys or birds nesting in their branches.
After having lunch at the lodge, you will check out and depart for Lake Manyara National Park, located about 2 hours (approximately 105 km) to the west. Upon arrival, you will enter Lake Manyara through the Mto wa Mbu gate and begin your afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara is famous for its flamingos. The lake’s alkaline waters attract a variety of birdlife, and you may also spot hippos, waterbucks and giraffes grazing along the shore. In the evening, you go to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full day Exploration of Lake Manyara and return to Arusha
After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive that takes you into Lake Manyara’s diverse landscapes. The park is known for its birdlife, including over 400 bird species, and it’s an ideal location for birdwatching. Your guide will also lead you through the forest areas where you might spot baboons, monkeys, and many more.
Later, you will visit the shore of Lake Manyara to take in the stunning views of the lake and surrounding forests. If time allows, you can also visit a local Maasai village near the park for a cultural experience, where you will learn about the Maasai’s traditional way of life. After lunch in the park, you will begin your drive back to Arusha, and when you arrive, you will be taken to a hotel of your choice.
